The Latvian State  Institute  of Wood Chemistry (LSIWC) is a leading Latvian research institute in the development of knowledge-based, environmentally friendly and low-waste technologies - with the aim of obtaining competitive materials and products from plant biomass for economic, social and ecological benefits. Research at the LSIWC is organized under six thematic laboratories, each of which specializes in a specific field: Wood Degradation and Protection, Biorefinery, Cellulose, Lignin Chemistry, Polymer, Bioengineering. The main competencies of the LSIWC include: chemistry, biotechnology, materials science and engineering, life cycle analysis, systems calculation and modeling, development of analytical methods and testing of various samples. The LSIWC Dataverse collection contains research data representing various scientific disciplines, including chemistry, biology, materials science. The repository collection contains the results of LSIWC's applied and fundamental research in the following scientific directions: wood materials, biorefinery, green chemistry and biotechnologies. 

Latvijas Valsts koksnes ķīmijas institūts (LVKĶI) ir vadošais Latvijas pētniecības institūts zināšanās balstītu, videi draudzīgu un zema atkritumu līmeņa tehnoloģiju izstrādē - ar mērķi iegūt konkurētspējīgus materiālus un produktus no augu biomasas ekonomiskā, sociālā un ekoloģiskā labuma gūšanai. Pētījumi LVKĶI tiek organizēti sešās tematiskajās laboratorijās, no kurām katra specializējas konkrētā jomā: Koksnes noārdīšanās un aizsardzība, Biorafinēšana, Celuloze, Lignīna ķīmija, Polimēri, Bioinženierija. LVKĶI galvenās kompetences ietver: ķīmiju, biotehnoloģijas, materiālzinātni un inženierzinātni, dzīves cikla analīzi, sistēmu aprēķinu un modelēšanu, analītisko metožu izstrādi un dažādu paraugu testēšanu. LVKĶI Dataverse kolekcija satur pētniecības datus, kas pārstāv dažādas zinātnes disciplīnas, tai skaitā ķīmiju, bioloģiju, materiālzinātni. Repozitorija kolekcijā pieejami LVKĶI lietišķo un fundamentālo pētījumu rezultāti šādos zinātniskos virzienos: koksnes materiāli, biorafinēšana, zaļā ķīmija un biotehnoloģijas.
